Financial Confidence
I was in an overdraft for more than 4 years.
Terrified to open my mobile banking app.
Living month to month.
No end in sight.
But then, I took full control.
I stopped living paycheque to paycheque.
Instead, I budgeted my income.
Yes, it's painful.
Yes, you'll probably be shocked.
YES, it means using a spreadsheet.
BUT, it's totally worth it.
Here’s how you can do it:
⒈ Understand your total income p/m
➢ Basic
➢ Bonuses
➢ Commission
➢ Extra's (side hustle/rental)
⒉ Itemise EVERYTHING you spend
➢ Put time aside
➢ Open mobile banking
➢ List everything you spend
↳ (item + £/$ amount)
⒊ Categorise spending
I break it down into:
➢ Business
➢ Living costs
➢ Household bills
➢ Family & friends
➢ Leisure & training
➢ Insurance, loans & banking
⒋ Get your result + analyse
➢ Income against total spending
➢ What do you notice about it?
➢ Responsible? Or not???
⒌ Cut back on the BS
➢ Now you're financially self-aware
➢ Cutback on the stuff you don't need
➢ Plan a budget ahead of the following month
(Be BRUTAL if you want to stop living month to month)
I buried my head in the sands for years on finances.
Consciously analysing this stuff changed that.
This approach will lead to:
1. Less stress
2. More freedom
3. Confidence in your path
PS. Want a copy of my sheet?
Respond to this email with “I’M IN” I'll send it to you.
(it gets easier the more you do it)
Till next Tuesday,
Dan
