THIS is why goals are important
Yesterday I wrapped up a 12 week program with a client working on an alcohol addiction.
And let me tell you, they absolutely fucking nailed it.
From a daily habit of wine to eight weeks of being alcohol-free. That's a huge win in my eyes.
In the final session of any program, my approach is to guide the client through a series of questions. This process helps to uncover their:
Inherent strengths and abilities.
Daydreams (yes, we mine these for gold).
Long-term aspirations.
Short-term objectives.
Then, we transform all these insights into practical, daily actions.
Now, here’s the really exciting part...
Most clients, when they start articulating their long-term goals, realise something profound: they no longer see their future selves working for someone else.
You might wonder why.
It’s because, in the process of shedding years of emotional baggage and living on autopilot, they've healed.
They start to step into their true power, recognising their immense inherent value.
They begin to see that, in fact, they might be undervaluing themselves by working for others. The world opens up, becoming a place of opportunity, brightness, and excitement.
When clients start to truly appreciate their worth, they begin to consider monetising their unique skills.
Could you become a Coach? Therapist? Consultant? Charity work?
It’s about understanding that you can spend your life doing something:
That you’re good at.
That the world needs.
That you enjoy.
That you can be paid for.
Honestly, I’ve got goosebumps right now...
THIS is why I do what I do.
It’s about SO much more than ending addiction ← this is just the beginning.
So, about the saying "addiction is a cake"...
It's quite apt…
The ingredients are your past, your present, and your future.
But the goals? They are the sweet, glistening cherry on top.
Choose the right one, and the journey doesn't just become bearable; it becomes delightful.
So, what are your goals for 2024? Hit reply, share them with me, and I’ll send you a Calendly link to schedule a strategy call totally free of charge. Let’s start laying down the building blocks for your future.
Loving you,
